1,474-Megapixel Photo Shot at President Obama’s Inaugural Address

Photographer David Bergman covered President Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington and what a fine job he did. The photo in the picture here is actually 59,783 x 24,658 pixels or 1,474 megapixels big.
It’s a panoramic image made with a Canon G10 and a Gigapan Imager clamped to the railing about six feet from the photo position. The Gigapan Imager will let you take multiple images and then stitch them back together in the lab. The resulting file of 220 images is a TIG almost 2GB big.
