Olympus Stylus 770 SW Hands On Review!

olympus-mju-770sw-1.jpgDigital Camera Review did a quick hands on review of the new Olympus Stylus 770 SW Digital Camera and will soon do a full on review. However lets just see what they had to say about this new digicam.

"Overall, the features and specs are pretty attractive. The camera also looks good. It's only 0.8 inches thick, qualifying as a an ultra-slim camera and it comes in silver, bronze, and blue. Like its predecessor, the styling is all metal and has an "industrial" look, with angular lines and screws holding the package together. Hinged doors with rubber gaskets keep water out of the USB port and battery/memory media compartment. The camera is, as you would expect with a shockproof and crushproof camera, very sturdy and solid with a nice weight in your hand."

"Shooting with the Stylus 770 SW is pretty straightforward. The speed of operation is pretty typical of other Stylus cameras. It's not the quickest, but still average to above average in overall speed of operation. Switching between capture modes (auto, image stabilization, and scene modes) is actually pretty sluggish, but the rest of the menu operations seem just fine. I was annoyed that I had disabled the flash in image stabilization mode, but when I came back later (after switching to auto mode) that the flash was re-enabled."

Review: Canon Power-Shot G7

Canon G7 Digital Camera-1.jpgThe folks over at Cameras.Co.UK have reviewed the popular Canon Powershot G7 and like the camera for its build quality, its feature set and its price tag. However the only think they found irritating was the apparent shutter lag.

The G7 offers an impressive 10 megapixel resolution which shall appeal to a wider demographic. The digicam is also equipped with a DIGIC III chip which ensures superior camera performance by increasing the levels of start up, auto-focus and shutter response times and also maximizes processing speed. It is equipped with a f/2.8-4.8 6X optical zoom lens with lens-shift image stabilization system and the onboard 1.4x/2.3x digital tele-converter works just like an actual tele-converter lens. Other features include; 31 minutes of video recordings with a 1024 x 768 XGA resolution, SDHC Memory Card/SD Memory Card/MultiMedia Card support, My Colors and My Category features and Face Detection AF/AE.

The website concludes "Overall there is a lot to like about the Canon Powershot G7. It is a camera aimed at enthusiasts and you will need to commit time to learning how the camera works in order to get the most out of it. You will find that it is time well spent."

2.4 GHz Wireless Security Color Video Camera

p0006436g.jpgThe 2.4 GHz Wireless Security Color Video Camera claims to be a professional grade surveillance which fulfills all your spy tendencies and is ideal to keep a check on all the activities around you! It claims to capture ultra clear images and one can use 4 cameras per wireless receiver (additional cost for each camera) to view 4 different locations while sitting at your desk or even in front of your television. Just plug the receiver into your PC desktop or television and watch all the action.

I like the fact that each camera has a built-in near-infrared setting which ensures better viewing even in low light conditions. Order it online here and the surveillance camera is available for around 100 bucks.

USB SD Card Reader By eNECESSITIES

sd-card-.jpgI love my Macbook to bits however one thing I truly miss is a SD Card slot. This is why I liked the USB SD Card reader which is both MAC and Windows compatible and promises to get the job done!

The USB SD Card Reader By eNECESSITIES can be hooked up to one's computer via the USB Port and one just need to insert their SD Card to get going. It measures 3" x 9/16" and comes bundled with two clear protective caps on either end. Go here for more info.
