2TB SDXC Cards in the Works?
How many memory cards do you take with you on at work? What about when going on those family vacations? Do you keep buying more cards to store all your photos? What if there existed a 2TB SDXC card? Would one such card suffice your needs?
The 2TB SDXC concept has just been announced. SDXC stands for SD eXtended Capacity and it’s based on Microsoft’s exFAT file system. It’s supposed to hold 4,000 RAW images, 100 HD movies or 60 hours of HD recording. And how about transfer speeds? Would a transfer rate of up to 300MBps be enough for you? The first cards should be launched in March but the first versions will feature top speeds of up to 104Mbps but eventually we’re going to get to that 300MBps speed. And eventually it will arrive to 2TB too since the first versions might arrive in smaller sizes.
