A Camera…That Uses FILM??
About a year and a half ago, we first brought to light one of those great and–these days–seemingly impossible rarities, a camera that actually requires film. The Instax Mini 7S from FujiFilm is a camera that requires the use of special two by three inch film to instantly produce photos about the size of a credit card.
There are other cameras out there that produce pictures instantly, like the PoGo from Polaroid, that depend on a tiny printer, but not the FujiFilm Instax. It also comes with 1/60-second electronic shutter and an LED exposure indicator to tell you how many frames are left.
The camera itself costs ninety eight bucks, and a ten pack of film will run you twenty. It’s actually great to see that film isn’t completely dead, even if it’s not in the shape it was in, or even in the best shape. You can actually still get a film based camera that isn’t a specialist job, and that appeals to my sense of honor, really. It’s actually available now, if you want a little piece of the past in your hands.
