A New Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM Lens Is Available For The U.S.
Recently, a new Sigma lens was released for the United States. It’s a 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM regular zoom lens for digital single-lens, reflexive cameras with an APS-C sensor. This 3.6 inch lens features two FLD (âFâ Low Dispersion) glass elements, two glass molds and a hybrid aspherical lens that provides great correction for any kind of aberration. It has a minimum focusing distance of 11 inches in its zoom and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5 as well.
Furthermore, the Optical Stabilizer (OS) enables you to capture longer hand-held exposures than previously possible and the inner focusing system stops front lens rotation completely. Thus, making the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 ideal for use when coupled with the petal-type lens hood and circular polarizing filters, which are included. Currently, this Sigma lens can be found in Canon mounts from any authorized Sigma dealer for $980 (MSRP). It’s also scheduled to be released for brands such as Nikon, Sigma, Sony and Pentax within the next few weeks.
