Sony showcased its first ever colour production camera viewfinder. The HDVF-EL100 integrates Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology in a compact rugged shell. The 11-inch device is the company’s first non-consumer application of an OLED panel. The panel offers 960 by 540 pixel resolution, a wide viewing angle, a broad colour gamut and exceptionally fast response time.

“High-definition acquisition requires extremely precise focusing, allowing the operator to accurately see contrast and colour levels when framing a shot,” said Rob Willox, director of Sony Electronics’ content creation group. “This new viewfinder is a perfect example of our unique ability to leverage the innovation and expertise from one part of our company and apply it in another area to meet customers’ needs.”

The Sony HDVF-EL100 enables hassle-free operation; its special stand-back function allows professionals to remain at a distance from the camera without sacrificing with quality. The OLED panels help in production of extremely dark shades of more than 1,000,000:1 contrast by preventing light emission. The device produces superb output with minimal energy consumption.
