Sigma Corporation recently introduced the APS-C Hood Adapter HA1030-01 intended for the Sigma APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM. Designed to extend the length of the lens hood, the hood adapter works best when used with digital cameras with an APS-C size image sensor, proving more effectual shading.

Dedicated APS-C Hood Adapters for the APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM and 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM was announced and exhibited by Sigma at PMA 2010 in Las Vegas. Later, many demands have been received after the announcement for development of a similar APS-C Hood Adapter for the APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM.

Sigma will start supplying the APS-C Hood Adapter HA1030-01 with all APO 50-500mm DG OS HSM lenses this month. UK customers who already own the APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM will get this hood adapter free of charge through Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd.
