Audi Cam Allows Customers To Watch A Mechanic’s Repair Work On Their Vehicles

If you’re a long-time car owner, then there might have been at least one instance when you had the misfortune of hiring a bad mechanic to do repair work on your vehicle. Then you had to go through the frustration of trying to get a refund from that guy and finding a better technician who’ll get the job done right. Now wouldn’t it be nice if you could actually be there with the mechanic to oversee his work on your car to make sure you’re getting the results you paid for? Well, if you’re a Audi owner living in the United Kingdom, then you can be there with the mechanic to watch his work on your car.

After launching a pilot program successfully, the German car company actually set up a unique camera system at every Audi Center in Britain using helmet cams and two-way radios. This system gives customers direct access to oversee every detail on a technical’s work on their vehicles. Furthermore, the acting mechanics on duty will wear helmet cameras while they work, sending a live feed to monitors in the Audi Center’s reception where customers can comfortably oversee the repair process. Then the two-way radio system allows the customers to actually talk to the technicians during their hours of labor in real-time and service advisors are also on-site to answer questions.

Apparently, one of the main goals of this Audi Cam system is to give customers a greater sense of confidence in the skills and services of experienced Audi technicians. Customers are being given the opportunity to watch the mechanics correctly diagnose problems in their vehicle and perform the appropriate repair work. Currently, Audi is providing fixed price servicing options for A1 models and five key maintenance jobs for A3, A4, A6 and TT models at least 36 months old and up to 2.0-litres in capacity. Audi owners can book these servicing options online right now at the Audi UK website.
