Augmented Reality Flashmob in Amsterdam

A different kind of event is set to take place in Amsterdam tomorrow as hundreds of Android and iPhone owners are set to come together for the first augmented reality flashmob. With the use of QR codes which they can get for their mobile devices, people can download 3D models and bring these popular characters like Darth Vader and Superman, to life at Dam Square.
An app such as Layar will be needed to activate the augmented reality view, and then with the AR tags on the ground Darth Vader could soon be standing next to the lucky flashmobber.
