Bellevue Drivers–The Red Light Cams Go Live Tomorrow
If you’re reading this and you’ve got occasion to drive in Washington State, know this–the red light cameras that have been operating for the last little while now will be fully live and operational starting tomorrow, which means they’ll be mailing tickets instead of gentle reminders.
Just in case you’re wondering where you’d like to find a detour to get around, the cameras are located at 148th Avenue Northeast, tracking north- and south-bound traffic, and again at the Bel-Red Road intersection, both north and south. Cameras only track to the south on Main Street.
And should you get caught by one of these greedy little vultures, be expecting a whopping hundred and twenty four dollar ticket waiting for you in the mail not long after.
Once again I feel it necessary to thank city officials for showing the kind of guts and integrity that it clearly requires to kick a man when he’s down, and to find yet another innovative way to pick residents’ pockets in a badly limping economy.
Kudos, Bellevue!
