Bokeh Filter Makes Blurs Look Like Stuff

You’ve probably had the misfortune of taking a picture at night and having your camera turn it into a vast field of blurry whatnot–streaks of light from headlights, streetlamps and everything else can turn your impromptu picture of your girlfriend into a picture that would give Jackson Pollack a headache.

But now, the Bokeh Filter, which attaches to any DSLR, will block out small pieces of light in order to turn them into various shapes, like hearts, or moons, or stars, or pretty much anything you might find in the average bowl of Lucky Charms.

Needless to say, reception to this admittedly rather cheesy device has been somewhat derisive (I actually saw one guy ask when the macaroni border feature was finally going to come out) but there’s a lot of potential to have fun with a piece like this.  And you’ve got to admit, based on the picture I found over at Gizmodo, there’s definitely some potential here.
