British Cops Reinforced with Digital Cameras
In a move that is expected to bring down the rising cases of domestic violence in Britain, cops will be reinforced with digital cameras in every police cruiser which is touted to be the new powerful tool to document domestic violence cases.
Thanks to a federal grant, the New Britain police will receive $11,000 to build 35 domestic violence kits that include digital cameras. New Britain patrol officers respond to roughly 2,700 domestic violence incidents a year, about seven a day, one of the highest calls for service in the city.
“The officers will…be photographing signs of abuse in the home. Punched out walls, smashed phones, they all contribute to the extent of the violence that occurred during the incident and give the court a better idea of how to deal with it,”
