Buying Your First Digital Camera
With so many digital cameras on the market now, how does a newbie make an informed decision on which one to buy? If you are completely new to the world of digital cameras, you are in for a confusing onslaught of technical specifications and new features, many of which will make absolutely no sense to you. However, you can safely look for a few features that will insure you get the basics you need and deserve at a decent price. First, make sure that, whatever the price of the camera, you get at least 3 to 4 megapixels of resolution. If the camera is priced over $100, you should be getting more than that.
Any less than 3 to 4 megapixels and you will not have the quality image you expect from a digital camera. Second, do not buy a camera with a plastic lens even if you get a substantial reduction in price. Last, make sure all the accessories you need are include. Does a bag, battery charger, USB cables, and software all come with the camera? If not, keep in mind you will have to lay out additional cash for these items, making your camera purchase less of a bargain than you might have thought.
