The Sony HDC1500 is a multi-format HD portable camera t which incorporates advance technologies like; a newly developed CCD imager and DSP LSI. The on board CCD imager can accommodate interlace and progressive scan formats ranging from 1080/50i and 1080/60i to 1080/24P.

The Sony HDC1500 is capable of also taking 1080/60P images and also supports 720/50P and 720/60P images. It weighs around 4.5 kg and has a signal to noise ratio of 54 dB.
