Camera Cord Saves Fisherman’s Life

Let this be the ultimate testament to the durability of a certain kind of underwater camera‘s cables, though sadly, we do NOT know just what that brand is.

Fishermen were recently out on the frozen Fox River, ice fishing as is the norm for this time of year.  A couple of fishermen were using an underwater camera to see if they could spot anything moving, and another was off not too far from them.  Well, the guy off by himself found a weak spot in the ice (this happens more than you care to think which is why I don’t ice fish–just strikes me as entirely too risky a sport) and went down.  The spot was sufficiently small that he could hang onto the edge of the weak spot and keep himself supported–but no one could really risk a rescue.

Enter our camera fishermen, who threw the victim their camera and used the cord to pull it–and him–to safety on much more solid ice.

Police had arrived just in time to help pull the man to safety, and he was taken to an area hospital, where he’s reportedly in good shape, without injury.

Cable sufficient to support human body weight?  Now that’s durability, folks.
