Canon A700 Camera Review

Dpreview has just reviewed the Canon PowerShot A700 which was first announced during the PMA 2006.Like all the cameras in the A series this one is mainly also a Point and Shoot Camera which has Reliable exposure and white balance , Excellent battery life, sharp and detailed images and a dedicated set of features and controls. However the camera suffers from a slow flash cycling, a jumpy zoom and low screen resolution.

The A 700 has a 6.0 mega pixel CCD with a 6x optical zoom lens and a large 2.5 inch LCD screen for optimal viewing. The LCD also has a Night Display feature for easy viewing in low light. Then there is the 9-point AiAF function which places the subject anywhere in the frame. The Canon A700 includes iSAPS Technology with original scene-recognition technology and works in conjunction with DIGIC II Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy. Scene Modes include Night, Foliage, Portrait, Landscape, Aperture Priority, Manual etc. Users can take advantaged of the various movie modes for recording video including Fast Frame Rate Movie Mode which records full-motion movie clips for up to 1 minute long in QVGA at 60 fps.

Finally the website concludes
