Canon and Nikon cameras receive update firmware

Today Canon and Nikon an update to the firmware of a few cameras, including the 40D, D3, and D700.

The changes aren’t dramatic, and most casual photographers won’t note the difference, but it is better to make use of the update as soon as possible so you don’t stay out-of-date. With that being said, the Nikon D3 firmware version is now at v2.01, while the 40D is at v1.1.1, and the D700 is at V1.01.

Example of fix on the D700:

An issue that, in extremely rare cases, resulted in noticeable black dots in images captured with Long exp. NR in the shooting menu set to On has been resolved.
