Ephotozine did a review of the Canon EF 180mm L Macro and it scores brownie points for its build and optical quality .The lens also produces good color and contrast without any much distortion. The only downside was that the lens was heavy and a little expensive.
The Canon EF 180mm L Macro lens has a focal length of 180mm with maximum aperture of f/3.5 and minimum aperture of f/32. The closest focus is around 0.48m (1:1) and it measures about 82.5×186.6mm. The lens is on the heavy side and weighs about 1.09kg and is supplied with a tripod collar. Autofocus is achieved by ultrasonic motor and the manual ring has a 44mm area of rubber ribbing attached. The lens also has a distortion reading of only 0.19% barrel and includes a 72mm filter thread.
