Remember those problems we mentioned about the Canon EOS 5D Mark II? The “Black Dot” problem? Does that sound familiar? I am sure it does. And you should be aware that Canon managed to fix it. Christmas is gone, New Year’s gone but Canon did manage to release a firmware update to address the problem. Look for firmware update 1.0.7 to fix your camera and start taking normal pictures. No matter what normal means to you. The firmware update also fixes the problem with vertical banding that appears when you record in sRAW1 format.

The dot is still there, with a different color though! Canon managed to remove the black dot, but they actually replaced it with a white one! some people think it’s a hardware issue.. I’m waiting for the next firmware update, hopefully there won’t be any dots!
