Canon PowerShot SD40

Back in the day high tech pocket cameras were the stuff of James Bond movies, but not anymore. The Canon Powershot SD40 is less than an inch thick, smaller than a candy bar, and weighs in at just over four ounces.  With a retail price of well under $75, this is tiny camera fits in anybody’s pocket and fits most pocketbooks. The Powershot SD40 comes with its own carrying case and dock, and has a resolution of 7.1 megapixels and a 2.4x optical zoom.

The tiny camera also features SDHD support, allowing the owner to use memory cards as large as 4 GB. Professional photographers will probably not be happy with the clarity of the photos, which some reviewers found to be grainy and substandard, but most people aren’t attracted to candy bar-sized cameras for the photo quality. As a fun take-along for vacations, day trips, or anywhere else you don’t want to take your cell phone, the Canon Powershot SD40 is an affordable option.
