Canon produces 30 millionth EOS-series SLR camera
Coinciding with Canon’s 70th anniversary is the milestone achieved by the company’s EOS-series film and digital single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras for producing its 30-millionth unit since its inception in 1987. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the EOS series.
Aside from the massive volume Canon has produced for many years, a more fantastic feat is managing the successful transition of EOS line from film to digital revolution. The company had surpassed the 10-million mark in 1997 and 20-million in 2003.
EOS 650 AF SLR camera was the first model launched in 1987 and EOS D30 was the first digital SLR camera released by Canon.
