Canon Unveils New IXUS Lineup

Canon has launched a new line of IXUS digital compacts, which feature upgrades and innovations from their previous models. The new IXUS lineup consists of:
- IXUS 990 IS
- 110 IS
- 100 IS
Canon’s DIGIC 4 imaging processor provides remarkably high speed rendering of fine detail, natural color reproduction, low noise and greater signal processing speed. Key technological advancements include enhanced shutter lag-time response, real-time face detection and tracking.
Continuous Servo AF tracks moving objects in crystal clarity upon first pressure of the shutter button. Face Self-timer captures the shot only when the photographer enters into frame, perfect for group or self-portraits without the unnecessary delays. Intelligent Contrast Correction fixes dark areas when objects are backlit or when flash distance is exceeded during and after photography.
All four of the IXUS compacts are fitted with a new Smart Auto Shooting Mode with Scene Detection Technology. This feature eliminates those flustered moments of switching between different scene settings. The camera intuitively detects changing scenes and automatically adjusts exposure and focal settings accordingly for beautiful photographs of people and landscapes to be captured effortlessly.
The new Blink Detection feature helps capture shots of subjects with bright open eyes. A frame will be displayed on the face of the person whose eyes were closed with a ‘blink icon’ display on the top right on the LCD monitor for three seconds.
