When delving in to the EOS features further one finds a CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor and an APS-C size sensor. The DSLR is designed to be power with any film camera and the ISO settings range from 100 to 1600 plus ISO 3200 in extended mode). There is also the famous Canon DIGIC II Image Processor for improved images and processing speeds. The EOS 30D can take upto JPEG and 11 RAW (or 9 RAW + JPEG) files in one rupture and start time is just 0.15-second. The 2.5 inch LCD can also be viewed at a 170 degree angle making playback and shooting easy for the user. An optional RGB histogram function is also seen in the Canon 30D.

The Canon 30D also features Canon’s Picture Style settings which allow customized shooting according to individual needs. There is a spot metering function too that meters 3.5% of the center of the image. There is a 9-point wide area AF system for sharp focus depending on light and aperture and has the E-TTL II flash metering system. It is compatible with all the available Canon lenses including Canon's EF-S series lenses. It will hit the markets in March and will be available at estimated prices of $1,3992 for the body kit and $1,499 for the EF-S 18-55 II zoom lens kit.
