Canon Extends XL HS Camcorder Range
Canon USA proudly showcased its new sophisticated XL H1S and XL H1A camcorders. Based on the successful Canon XL HS HD Camcorder, the camcorders include an updated Canon 20x HD Video Lens. The powerful lens is equipped with three independent manual adjustment rings, an enhanced manual focus and zoom control for convenient customisation of image and video settings. Record superb digital videos on the most affordable media, HDV tapes with finest audio quality.
Canon’s Genuine XL interchangeable lens system with three 1/3 inch, 1.67 Megapixel CCD Image Sensors and Canon's DIGIC DVII HD Image Processor ensure superior image quality. Utilizing a durable six-pin IEEE 1394 terminal any external hardware can be easily connected to the models. XL H1S also features an HD-SDI (SMPTE 299M)/SD-SDI (SMPTE272M) output with embedded audio and time code to deliver uncompressed 1.485 Gbps signal for demanding live production environments.
Other features offered are 23 custom presets for image-quality adjustment, an onboard SD/SDHC Memory Card for storage, a 2.4" combination EVF/LCD monitor, two built-in XLR terminals (separate audio-input sensitivity settings) and external LCD monitor output support.
Hitting local stores in June, the Canon XL H1S HD camcorder could be yours for an estimated price of $8,999. The XL H1A will be available in mid-July, for $5,999 approximately.
