The Canon SD800 IS Digital Camera Review

20060914_hiRes_sd800is-thumb.jpg The Canon SD800 IS Digital Camera has been reviewed by Cnet and give the digicam points for its Good focal range for lens; quick performance; optical image stabilization and attractive design. However they were not impressed by the camera’s few manual controls and extremely noisy photos at ISO 1,600.

A seven megapixel camera the Canon SD800 IS impresses with the 3.8x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 4.6–17.3 mm (35 mm film equivalent 28–105 mm), f/2.8–f/5.8. Like all the new crop of Canon ELPH cameras this one too includes a DIGIC III Imaging Processor. Thanks to the optical IS and a maximum ISO speed of 1600 one doesn’t need to worry about shooting difficult conditions like when there is low light. It also sports a perpetual curve design and the camera and includes a 2.5-inch high resolution LCD screen. This one too has some standard Canon Modes like Shooting Modes and White Balance Settings include Auto, Day Light, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent, Fluorescent H.

The review writes in the end " A slim, stylish body, a wide-angle lens, very good photo quality, and snappy performance make the Canon PowerShot SD800 IS a great point-and-shoot."
