Casio Exilim EX-Z700 Review
One of the first few in-depth reviews of the Casio Exilim EX-Z700 to pop up on the web is by Cnet and lets see what they have to say. The digicam was found to be quick and responsive however Cnet was quick to list the bad points too! According to them the digicam suffered from heavy fringing, left edges of images were blurry and it defaults to Quick Shot Mode always!
The 7.2 megapixel Casio EX-Z700 sports a 2.7" LCD has a brightness rated at 1200 cd/m2. Casio claims a long battery life on the EX-Z700, with as many as 460 digital still images on a single charge. The Casio Z700 features Automatic Framing. When the subject is chosen, the camera uses an automatic tracking function that moves with the subject, so that it is in the center of the frame. You can also shoot videos in AVI format (max resolution is 640x480), but recorded sound will be in mono. The lens is capable of 3x optical zoom and its 35mm equivalent would be 38-114mm.
The review ends by panning the camera and says "The Casio Exilim EX-700 is an unremarkable point-and-shoot camera that doesn't excel at anything, though its performance and size make it great for quick snapshots. If you can afford them, the Canon PowerShot SD800 and the Sony Cyber Shot DSC-T10 offer superior image quality in the same pocketable size for a slightly higher price."
