Coyote Systems About To Seriously Frustrate Speed Camera Users
Uh oh…municipalities depending on speed cameras for extra revenue better watch out–the biggest speed camera alert system in Europe is about to hit the United States market.
Coyote Systems will be bringing the mini Coyote and the iCoyote app for the iPhone fairly soon. It’s the only traffic camera / red light camera alert system on the market, and will communicate the presence of cameras via the Coyote Community, who takes an especial pleasure in marking the locations of these cameras. In turn, the Coyote will broadcast the location of mobile speed cameras for fully three hours when one is found.
Units will be available for purchase starting in 2010, but there’s no word on pricing yet, so keep your eyes front. And watch for local governments to try and ban these, too–after all, if it alerts you to a speed camera, it’ll cause you to slow down and obey traffic laws, but entirely too soon for the local government, who’d probably rather cash in.
