Creative Vado HD Pocket Cam Momentum Film Contest Announced
Students who have the talent for producing short films get their chance to showcase their wares through the use of a Vado HD Pocket Cam thanks to this contest called the Creative Vado HD Pocket Cam Momentum Film Contest. All students have to do is take videos via a Vado HD and add some sounds as they wish. For students who don’t own one, they can borrow from film school camera departments of participating schools. In case their school is not listed, they can apply for a loaner unit here.
Finished films should be uploaded to YouTube and then submit them to Creative for approval. Entries will be accepted until December 10 up to 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. Voting ends on January 31, 2010 and winners will be announced on February 8, 2010. Prizes include, cash, Creative products and internship opportunities in Creative’s social marketing division and with a famous filmmaker, to be announced later. [...] Creative has unveiled the new third generation design for the Creative Labs Vado HD Pocket Video cam which is now available for pre-order over at Amazon.com. Among the new features of the new Vado include improved video quality in low and bright lighting conditions, external stereo microphone support for better audio recording and a motion detection mode that enables users to program the camera once it detects something moving. It can store up to 90 minutes of HD video or 7,000 still photos thanks to its 4GB onboard storage. Available in black or white, the third generation Creative Vado HD retails for $179.99. [...]
Though the Creative Vado HD 3rd Gen doesn’t do quite enough to distinguish itself from the competition, it does offer some nice improvements over earlier Vado HD models that keep it relevant in the pocket camcorder space.
