D-Link announces two new network webcams- the D-Link Network Camera DCS-1100 which launches today, while the DCS-1130, with WiFi draft-n, comes later in the month. Both cameras can be accessed from any browser by going to the D-Link mydlink.com portal. They can also be used to stream live video to cellphones, with sound from the integrated microphone and remote control of 16x digital zoom and motion detection.

Setting up the cameras is apparently pretty straightforward. Streams can be shared, although at present only Internet Explorer is supported, but D-Link claim other browsers will be added before long. The D-Link DCS-1100 now available, retails for $179.99. In the meantime the DCS-1130 is expected to ship at the end of June 2009, selling for $219.99.

  5. Very nice! I’m not much for white cameras though - hard to conceal and they get dirty quick. D-Links IP cameras can be hit and miss - examples are the DCS-950 (poor reviews) vs the DCS-6620 (great reviews).
