Dell Wasabi PZ310
Just weeks after Polaroid announced the debut of PoGo, the first instant print Polaroid camera in years, Dell has also announced the release of a new portable photo printer using the same inkless “Zink” technology. Dell’s device, called the Wasabi PZ310, produces instant wallet-size (2-by-3-inch) borderless color images in less than a minute. The Dell Wasabi uses Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and PictBridge for physical connections, and works with Bluetooth-enabled camera phones like the RIM Blackberry Curve, LG Trax, and Motorola RAZR V3, as well as working with digital cameras and mobile PCs.
“Zink” technology uses special heat-sensitive paper to produce color images with the use of any ink at all. It is the third inkless camera device to be debuted since the announcement of the Polaroid PoGo. The Wasabi PZ310 will retail for $149, but will be available briefly though the Dell website for $99 as a part of a promotional premiere event.
