Eee PC 701 Gets Turned Into a Digital Photo Frame

Most digital photo frames can do all sorts of things and usually we don’t exactly need them to do anything but display our favorite pictures. And if digiframes can act as computers why shouldn’t computers act as digiframes too?

An Eee PC 701 has been turned into a digital photo frame. It’s not an official move but rather a do it yourself kind of think. The new machine will launch Ubuntu when booting up and it will automatically start a browser which will run a page that holds a photo slideshow. Well do you really want to do that to your poor computer? Will you still be able to use the extra netbook functions? Why not set a screensaver made out of pictures? You know that’s possible in Windows XP don’t you?
