
Epson proudly presented its new wide format printer, Epson Stylus Pro 4880. The printer produces unbelievable output at unmatched speed through Epson’s Eight-Channel MicroPiezo® AMC™ Print Head with Ink Repelling Coating Technology. The print head features 180 nozzles per channel and is capable of handling eight different channels. Additionally it uses Epson UltraChrome K3™ Ink Technology with Vivid Magenta with Superior scratch resistance from improved pigment and resin chemistry and Epson AccuPhoto™ HD Screening Technology gives extremely fine images with maximum resolution up to 2880 x 1440 dpi. To optimize black ink density it features two separate black ink modes Photo Black or Matte Black which dramatically improves print quality.
Convenience is created for connectivity through 10/100 BaseT Ethernet and enhanced high speed USB 2.0 support.
Other features include High capacity ink system, automatic head alignment and nozzle check technology and true border free printing. The printer will be available in October 2007 however two special editions, Epson Stylus Pro 4880 Portrait Edition and Epson Stylus Pro 4880 ColorBurst Edition will be available by December. Epson Stylus Pro 4880 will be available at the nearest store at an estimated price of $1,995, Epson Stylus Pro 4880 Portrait Edition will be offered at $2,195 and Epson Stylus Pro 4880 ColorBurst Edition will be obtainable at $2,495.
