Eurovision Selects Cerona for Global Distribution Network

Eurovision has decided to go with Cerona’s DVB S2 Sky DSR Dual Tuner to provide its industry-leading DVB-S2 SkyDSR Dual Tuner Satellite Receiver for high-speed IP transmissions in support of its global contribution network.

Cerona’s DVB-S2 Dual Tuner Receiver met all of Eurovision’s technical requirements and as a dual tuner, it will allow Eurovision to receive simultaneous transmissions from two separate transponders, each running up to 80 megabits per second.

“Eurovision is the premier distributor of sports and news content for the world’s top broadcast and media platforms,” according to Eurovision Operations Director Stefan Kuerten, “and we are delighted to be working with Cerona in our goal to provide our customers with the programming they want in a seamless, reliable and cost-effective way.

“It is indeed gratifying and truly an honor to work with such an outstanding company like Eurovision as they transition their networks to DVB- S2,” said Mitch Robinson, president and chief executive officer of Cerona. “It’s also exciting to see that yet again, Cerona’s products prevail in the hyper-competitive DVB-S2 receiver technology market. We look forward to working with Eurovision in meeting their future satellite-based objectives.”
