Eye-Fi application

Eye-Fi, Inc., a company based in Mountain View California, announced recently that it is developing a new iPhone application that will allow Eye-Fi card owners to send photos taken on an iPhone directly to their computer and the Web. iPhone users will be able to share their photos without docking the device, just like digital camera users already can. (Eye-Fi , Inc. created the first wireless memory card for digital cameras.) Using the Eye-Fi application, users can select which iPhone photos to upload and where to share them.  Photos taken on an iPhone can be automatically tagged with information about where the picturewas taken, just like with a digital memory card.

Users can then view the tagged photos on a digital map and organize photos by location. Could this be Apple’s way of backing into the digital camera market? To receive an email alert when the application is available from the App Store, please visit http://www.eye.fi/macworld, where visitors can also view a demonstration of the application in action.
