Find the Camera for You
What kind of digital camera is right for you? If you wander into an electronics store, you can easily be overwhelmed by options. Yet many specs on digital cameras are fairly irrelevant for certain applications. For instance, if you are looking for a little digital camera for taking basic family photos and to e-mail to friends and post online, the resolution (measured in megapixels) is not something you need to worry about. Most digital cameras on the market today have resolution that far exceeds the image quality of old pocket cameras from ten or even five years ago.
Deciding what you need the camera for will keep you from buying more camera than you need or less than you want. Some specs to consider for any need are screen size, memory and storage capacity, battery life, and price. If you shop with a clear vision of what you intend to do with your new camera, you will be less confused when confronted with all the options.
