FotoNation announces ChromaFix correction technology

Embedded imaging solutions provider, FotoNation, has announced the new ChromaFix technology which betters digital photos than they already are good. ChromaFix is FotoNation’s one-step chromatic aberration correction technology. ChromaFix is the counterpart or aberration minimizing technologies present in high end digicams and camera phones. This means that it can fix irregularities in photos taken by more affordable digital picture devices.

If you take a look at the photos, you’ll see that there are purple fringe at the bottom of the bar (magnified) — this is an example of chromatic aberration. This stems from the fact that majority of lenses are designed to focus mainly on green wave lengths. Using ChromaFix, such problems would not exist.

A demonstration of ChromaFix would be seen on PMA 2008, the annual photo trade show and convention.
