FUJIFILM Introduces Label flash™ DVD Media to U.S. Market

Known for innovation and high standard products, FUJIFILM recently launched recordable media for the Label flash™ enabled laser-labeling DVD drives. This technology is being introduced in the U.S. market with certain selected models of the new Toshiba Satellite® A205/P205 Notebook computer series. DVD drives enabled with Label flash would allow the end user to create personalized, professional-looking DVDs with understandable and finely detailed labeling by inscribing high-class images and text straight into a specialized dye within the disc. The most important advantage of this process is that it eliminates the need for specific printers, inks or sticky labels. Fuji film recordable media would initially be available in DVD-R (16x) format and would be capable of burning images 5 minutes in ‘Fast’ mode and 15-20 minutes for the highest contrast.
The only requirement for Burning a Label flash disc is a Label flash compliant DVD drive and Fuji film’s recordable media for Label flash. With this the user just simply need to flip the disc over after recording data onto the media and re-insert it into the Label flash compliant DVD drive with the label side facing down. Within just five minutes, the drive’s optical laser beam inscribes a monochromatic blue and silver image 0.6mm deep into the disc, giving out an extremely attractive, long lasting high-quality image. Fuji film Label flash media will be available in most consumer electronics and office supply retail locations as product is already present in the market.
