Fujitsu Components America launched the new FTP-629USL thermal printer. The printer is an expansion to the company’s existing line-up of thermal printers for kiosk applications. FTP-629 includes an auto cutter for full or partial cutting, a USB control board, automatic document feeder and a paper holder for up to 83mm diameter rolls. Its double tilt function enables convenient maintenance for paper jam clearing and thermal head cleaning.

The FTP-629USL generates sharper text, graphic characters and 2-D barcodes at 200mm per second with 8 dots/mm resolution. The printer is programmable to deliver output at multiple speeds of at 40, 80,125mm per second to conserve power. FTP-629 is ideal for banking, gaming, media and photo kiosk applications. It easily prints on thermal ticket stock and 60 to 150 microns thick receipt paper. Other functions performed include motor over-current protection, paper-out/near-end detection, and abnormal thermal head temperature detection.

The Fujitsu FTP-629USL Thermal printer is available immediately, priced at $281 in 1000-piece quantities.
