FujiFilm JZ300 Digital Camera Review–Fully Recommended

It’s not every day that I can recommend a camera based on a combination of use, price and features–usually I ride the fence on most every camera, issuing tepid recommendations and the occasional wag of a mildly disapproving finger.  But the FujiFilm JZ300 is a different creature, and well worth recommending.

The Fujifilm JZ300 is a twelve megapixel digital camera that offers a 10x optical zoom with a 6x digital zoom backing it up.  It also offers a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, digital image stabilization, face detection technology with automatic red-eye removal, the SR auto mode that selects settings based on the conditions, a variety of shooting modes, a tracking auto focus mode, a natural light and natural light with flash shooting mode to let you choose between a photo with and without flash, forty megs of onboard memory with Secure Digital memory card support, search options and an optional HDTV connection kit to let you see your images on an HD television.

There’s plenty of great features here–the zoom is actually pretty long for a compact digital camera, approaching fifty feet by my estimation.  There’s plenty of memory, lots of tools to work with, and an overall great camera.

The pricing is on the high side but well within expectations for something like this; Best Buy wants a fairly sedate two hundred bucks for it.

The FujiFilm JZ300 is definitely a camera you’ll want to have a look at, if you’ve got any plans at all to pick up a new digital camera.  It’s got entirely too much going for it and about the only downside it’s got is that it doesn’t have the features of cameras that cost twice as much.
