Hallmark Unveils Webcam Greetings with Augmented Reality

Hallmark has unveiled a new way to send greeting cards by employing an augmented reality twist which brings the card to life on a computer screen. The animation tracks the movement of the card. Various scenes appear as the card is moved in different angles in front of a webcam to provide a one of a kind greeting card. Check out the video for a cool demo.
People receiving the card must go to the Hallmark site to view the greeting. There are 10 cards currently available for Valentine’s Day but more greetings are expected to come out. Most webcam greetings retail for $2.99. Some webcam greetings include a sound clip that plays when the recipient opens the card. These cards retail for $5.99. All webcam greetings are available wherever Hallmark cards are sold.
