Hasselblad H4D-40 Streets–Overkill Much?
For those of you who believed that the megapixel war is over, well, say hello to papa nuke–the Hasselblad H4D-40, a forty megapixel digital camera.
Yes, forty.
Most digital cameras these days come somewhere between ten and twelve megapixel, with a few trending up into the fifteen megapixel route, but not the Hasselblad. And the official launch date has been announced, you’ll be technically able to get your hands on one of these February 10th.
I say technically, of course, because you’ll have to bring EIGHTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS with you to buy this thing. Roll that around in your head for a second: eighteen grand. That’s more than many kinds of CAR. But you’ll get a medium-format DSLR that shoots at forty megapixel, fully four times the resolution of most commercially available cameras.
So if you’re the kind of person who needs the biggest and best–or you’re a professional in desperate need of a wicked tax break–you may want to see about getting a wheelbarrow full of loot together and getting your hands on a Hasselblad H4D-40.
