HD Video Records Where Space Earth Finishes and Space Begins

The home video above was made with a Canon Vixio-HF camcorder which was conveniently attached to a hydrogen balloon. The video is terrific and goes to show that you can do pretty much anything you want to if you have the wits. Project BEAR (Balloon Experiments with Amateur Radio) showed everyone that all you need to record “The Edge of Space” is a balloon filed with hydrogen and a Canon camcorder. Although it won’t be as original you could do it too if you want to see how the beginning of space looks like for your own. The view up there is great and as long as you have an 1800g balloon, five extra AAA Lithium L91 battery cells and a 32GB memory card then you’ll be able to get your own shot of the skies. You’ll probably need some other tech trickeries to be able to locate the camera and retrieve it later in order to extract the video from it! And just in case you’re going to pull such a stunt then send you’re final cut our way too.
