HP Photosmart R967 Review

tn_HP_R967.jpgAnother camera to be reviewed recently be PC World is the HP Photosmart R967. The camera received a Good Rating and was liked for its easy to use menus and its in camera red-eye reduction mode. The camera was disliked for its low battery life and slow processing.

The HP Photosmart R967 has an impressive 10 mega pixel resolution and a 3 inch LCD with a 170-degree viewing angle. The HP R967 features the HP Real Life technologies which include, in-camera red-eye removal, HP Design Gallery, Adaptive Lighting Bracketing allows users to adjust high-contrast photos to bring faces out of shadows and details out of backgrounds. The VGA mode can record high quality movies at 24 frames per second with sound and the internal 32 MB of memory can be expanded via memory cards. The camera includes 17 shooting modes like macro multi-zone auto focus and burst mode.

In the end they write "The R967 is best suited for point-and-click photographers who don't need manual controls at their fingertips. There is no mode dial, and so the only shooting mode you can initiate via a dedicated button or dial is the macro mode; for all scene modes, you have to navigate the menus. The camera is also a bit on the heavy side at 7.7 ounces; at 1-inch thick, it's not ultraslim, but nor is it overly bulky."
