HTC bringing 1080p video capture to their phones



It was during the launch of the HTC Smart, Desire, and Legend in South Africa that an HTC local managing director revealed that the company is making mobile phones that can record 1080p HD video.

Mobile phones can do 720p at this point, and these 1080p phones with full-HD capture will be available by second quarter of 2011.

Camera companies, be afraid. Be very afraid. If mobile phones get 1080p capability and are capable of larger memory cards, then fewer people will by cameras or camcorders. You see where this is going?
