iFrame Video Format; Do We Really Need It?
Earlier today we’ve shown you a couple of new Dual Cameras from Sanyo, the VPC-HD2000A and the VPC-FH1A. Currently they are the only cameras on the face of the earth capable of iFrame video format recording.
Do we need another video standard? Apple certainly thinks so! The iFrame video format has been “invented” in order to speed up the whole downloading, editing and sharing video process. Apple has come up with it and it’s now available in the iMovie update that was available.
iFrame comes with a standard resolution of 960 x 450 which is going to be very helpful if you happen to record a lot of videos that need to be later edited in order to be shared with all your friends. The file size of iFrame videos is significantly smaller than the file size of HD videos. Thus you’ll be able to store more content on your memory cards, not to mention the faster download and upload times.
It remains to be seen if this new video recording format will become a standard in the months to come. In the mean time it’s good to know that those new Dual Cameras can also record videos in other formats!
