ImageStreamX Imaging Flow Cytometer Launched

In the world of science, imaging is of equal importance. And to make sure that images are properly displayed, Amnis corporation introduces the second generation of the patented ImageStream technology which combines the speed, sensitivity, and phenotyping abilities of flow cytometry with the detailed imagery and functional insights of microscopy. The new ImageStreamX greatly expands the capabilities of the platform with faster sample throughput, more excitation lasers and detection channels, higher image quality, and greater productivity.

“The ImageStreamX is ten times faster, has better quality imagery, and can now produce up to 12 images per cell,” remarked William Ortyn, Amnis’ co-founder and Chief Operations Officer. “No other cell analysis platform gives you as much information in a single experiment or allows you to combine detailed functional and phenotypic studies,” added Ortyn.

“The modularity of the new ImageStreamX allows it to fit into a much wider range of budgets, while its performance characteristics make it much more competitive against conventional flow cytometry,” said David Basiji, Ph.D., Amnis’ President and Chief Executive Officer.
