iPad Camera? It’s YOUR Camera!

And now the picture becomes clearer on why there wasn’t a camera with the iPad–because they figured you already had one.

You can see right there in that CNET picture an add-on camera kit for the iPad. Well…in a SENSE. They run thirty dollars each,  and allow you to hook your digital camera to the iPad, either by sharing pictures out through a memory  card or a mini-USB cable, which of course you’d have to supply yourself.

Excuse me for being a bit underwhelmed at this point–the iPad is basically having you use your OWN camera to be its camera.  It really does seem a bit odd that they wouldn’t INCLUDE a camera in the iPad.  Of course, there’s definitely something to be said for the ever-present idea in tech circles that “not everything NEEDS a camera”, but there’s certainly some added value involved in getting one included.  I’m not sure why Apple went this route, but it really doesn’t seem to be slowing sales and interest any.
