Is The Apple Tablet Going To Have A Camera Or Not?
The answer appears to be “who knows?”. The question, meanwhile, has been going back and forth around the interwebs for the last several hojillion days as everyone’s trying to figure out what the antiMicrosoft is planning to do next.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball took the boys at TechCrunch out behind the metaphorical woodshed for misquoting somebody and then insisted that the Apple Tablet would NOT have a camera. No camera, no digital camera, not even so much as a webcam.
Apparently they want us to believe that the Apple Tablet will instead focus on being a kind of e-reader for books and magazines, and that a camera would just get in the way.
This in turn has led some people to ask, why bother? Does EVERYTHING need a camera now? Do we all need to have a camera on the Apple Tablet? Why can’t we just, you know, use the Tablet without taking pictures? And this is a fair question, though a PC probably should have a webcam available for it.
We’ll keep watching this one, because it’s a huge rumor, and frankly, everyone would like to know if for no other reason than to finally settle this story’s hash.
