JVC Everio MG 630 Camcorder Review–Sniper Cam
I haven’t had very many opportunities to handle product in the JVC line, but I’m definitely glad I got to take a run at the JVC Everio MG 630, a camcorder that redefines long range to such a preposterous degree that I had to call it “sniper cam”.
The JVC Everio MG 630 comes with a sixty gig hard drive and a 40x dynamic zoom (800x digital zoom). It also offers a one touch export function to make uploading your videos to iPod or iPhone by working with your iTunes library, and also has one touch upload for YouTube, along with one touch DVD creation, which has apparently been around for some time. To top it off, it also has a “laser touch” scroll bar for easy operation within menus along with external controls.
I got fine print on this thing from over a hundred feet out. Seriously, I actually paced it off. It was a hundred feet. I couldn’t believe the range on this thing, and considering all the sharing options, there’s not much choice but to call this a great camcorder.
