JVC GZMG630 Camcorder Review–Pricey But Handy

The JVC GZMG630 is a surprisingly nice camcorder that, despite its admittedly high price, will manage to supply most of your camera needs in one handy package.

It can hold up to seventy five hours of footage on its sixty gig onboard hard drive, offers a 40x optical zoom on a Konica Minolta lens, laser-touch operation with sub-trigger and zoom, plus one touch upload to YouTube.

Yes, it’s a four hundred dollar camcorder.  And yes, it’s not so great on small print at long ranges, but if you’re relatively new to the whole camcorder concept, you’ll definitely appreciate how accessible this camera is.  It’s very easy to use, as all the buttons are laid out nicely, and the whole “laser touch” bit really does improve the operational ability of this camcorder.  It’s an excellent piece overall–granted, a bit high in price, especially for the recommended portion of “people just getting started”, but it’s still a very good camcorder that’ll do most any job nicely.
